Allegoree Consulting was founded because Dr. Esther Hayman wants to help people find more meaning in their work, and to help them to navigate career transitions, such as retirement, mid-career or after a major life change. She also helps people who feel like they are facing job burnout. She has found that most readily available information stays on the surface of what people really need to know about finding meaning in work and in retirement. As a result, she stays current with research and with what people are accomplishing in these areas so that she can integrate the knowledge into her practice.
Dr. Esther advises people who are still deeply involved in their careers or want to find something that clicks with them. And, as baby boomers approach retirement, she helps them to examine the non-financial aspects of retirement planning that are so critical to well-being in retirement. She coaches people approaching retirement, as well as retirees who want to make a difference with their lives and whose retirement is not going as they had hoped, to help them define and understand what will bring satisfaction and meaning as their retirement evolves.
She also coaches leaders who have transitioned to their new roles within the last 18 months. In addition, she helps leaders assess their work groups as to how they are adjusting to their new leaders. Those who are feeling that they are on the verge of burnout also may find help.
Dr. Esther has a Ph.D. in industrial/organizational psychology (work psychology), and a Master’s degree in Human Resource Management. She has also achieved a Career Development Facilitator certificate, is a Certified Professional in Learning and Performance (CPTD) and is a Board Certified Coach. She has studied the psychology of work for many years. She has worked with CEOs as well as entry-level employees in a Fortune 500 company for over 26 years, and in small to medium-sized businesses prior to that.
She sees clients in the Puget Sound region of Washington State and makes other arrangements for clients outside the Seattle area.
